Sunday, 23 August 2009 08:11 Joe Viglione's review of PSYCH-OUT - The Ultimate Head Trip on

Released on the Sidewalk imprint of Tower Records, manufactured by Capitol, this is an excellent '60s album from a Dick Clark/American International Motion Picture, Psych Out. There is only one track from Sky Saxon's Seeds, and their "Two Fingers Pointing on You" sounds exactly like, you guessed it, "Pushin' Too Hard." The band made a career out of reinventing that one tune, and they do not disappoint here, lifted from their Future album on GNP Crescendo

We've asked George Cox, lead singer of THE STORYBOOK, to participate in an exclusive interview for Stay Tuned. E mail from George, Sun, August 23, 2009 3:47 am

Just a quick note to let you know that the Storybook did exist and recorded most of the tracks for the movie and soundtrack. We were a band from the San Fernando Valley and I was the lead singer.

Synopsis : Take the ultimate in psychedelic head trips with Susan Strasberg, Dean Stockwell, Jack Nicholson & Bruce Dern. At the height of the 60s, in the heady days of flower power & free love, a young woman embarks on a journey to find her missing brother....& discovers herself along the way. Her search takes her to swinging San Francisco, where she teams up with the aptly named stoney & his out of sight hippie band Mumblin Jim. But the more she succumbs to that music, the more she realises that reality is a rotten place to be
